Smacked Into Reality NP

by Donna Farrar2 on December 1, 2010

I would have to say that this particular blog post, although funny, is also a little embarrassing.
To tell you I have to admit to being an avid watcher of the show iCarly.

I know I am 30 years old and this show is meant for people half my age…

Now, I could sit here and tell you that I only watch it with my cousin’s daughter, Katie,  who is in 3rd grade..

…but I would be lying

and I don’t like liars, so I am going to tell you the truth….

It all began in early January 2010…

I remember the day like it was yesterday..

I was at the gym, on the elliptical machine next to my friend, Jen.

I was flipping through channels, until..

Jen turned and told me to put it on Nickelodeon, oops, showing my age there…I should say Nic.

I did…

And thus my addiction to iCarly was born..

And when I say addiction..

I mean it..

I found myself getting excited to find episodes on TV…

Elated when I found them On Demand!

I watched past episodes and got to love Carly, Freddie and Sam!

Oh, how they made me laugh!

Sam was always teasing Freddie, Freddie and his huge crush on Carly, the list could go on and on.

So you can imagine my excitement yesterday.

After a long, long day of shopping and errands I finally got to relax.

And when I turned on the TV, I was going through the guide, and to my delight!

There would be 3 episodes of iCarly on…. in a row!

Yay!

To top if off 3 episodes..I haven’t even seen yet!

Double yay!

I sat back and started watching.

Carly and Sam were sitting at a table at the smoothie place (for you non watchers they go here a lot).

**Please not the below conversation is not verbatim and is how I remember it.**

In walks Freddie, he turns to Sam and says “I thought you had detention”.

Sam: I do, I snuck out.

Freddie: How did you do that?

Sam: Ms So & So  takes attendance and then leaves to go make-out with Mr So & So.

Freddie: Gross

Carly: Eww, I know..30 year old’s are to old to make-out!

WHAP!!

..and there was the smack into realityt.

30 year old’s…to old to make-out??

Sniff, sniff..

Did Carly just say that?

Sniff, sniff..

What the heck am I doing watching a show that says 30 year old’s are too old?

Nuf said.

I’m done!

No more iCarly for me!

(Well at least for a little while!)

I felt a Smack Into reality SP

I would have to say that this particular blog post, although funny, is also a little embarrassing.

You see to give you the whole picture I have to admit to being an avid watcher of the show iCarly.

Yes, I know I am 30 years old and this show is meant for people half my age…

oh man

..actually no (gulp, gulp) younger that half my age.

(Ouch!)

Single and the Holidays…SP

November 30, 2010

Another year, another round of being single for the holidays. Which I don’t mind at all. No need to have to figure out whose family to go to for dinner, no extra presents to buy. What is annoying is the round of questioning that begins at holiday parties. Last week was Thanksgiving and it started [...]
